About the author

BJÖRN JINDRAis researcher at the Halle Institute of Economic Research in Germany. He obtained a BA in European Studies and Economics from the University of Wolverhampton in the UK and his MA in the Political Economy of Eastern Europe and Russia from the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies at University College London, UK. In 2010 he was awarded a Doctorate in Science and Technology Policy at SPRU, University of Sussex, UK. He contributed to research projects in the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh EU Framework Programme on various aspects of foreign direct investment, transition and economic cohesion.
