About this book

The traditional class analysis of politics in industrial societies described a conflict that pitted the well-off business class against the working class in a "democratic class struggle." This book holds that economic development has produced a New Class which rivals the business class in the politics of post-industrial societies.

Reviews

"John McAdams shows us how to look at privilege in a whole new way. He provides a wealth of data showing how professionals profess policies that serve their class interests. This book backs up the old saying that people who shout 'power to the people' mean power to the people who shout 'power to the people.'" - John J. Pitney, Jr., Roy P. Crocker Professor of American Politics, Claremont McKenna College, USA
