Reviews
“This book not only an original contribution to the existing EU-Latin America relations literature, but a most welcome road map for academics and practitioners alike. … a useful guide to the ‘institutional labyrinths’ of the EU policies towards Latin America stand out.” (Stefano Palestini, Journal of Common Market Studies, Vol. 54 (5), 2016)
'The book provides a long overdue expert and up-to-date analysis of the EU-Latin American interregional relationship. It is comprehensively assessed, thoughtfully conceptualized, and carefully argued. Students and practitioners with an interest in interregional studies and EU external relations will find this an invaluable resource.'
Emil J. Kirchner, Jean Monnet Chair, University of Essex, UK
'Dominguez provides a magisterial analysis of the evolution of the EU-LA partnership and the challenges that it faces in the twenty-first Century. The book shows how despite challenges and limits inherent to the bi-regional relationship, both regions have embarked on developing a variety of mechanisms to advance their interest at different levels. This book is essential reading for those who want to understand this important relationship.'
Sebastian Royo, Associate Provost, Suffolk University, USA'Professor Dominguez presents an authoritative analysis of the complex and multi-layered Euro-Latin American relationship, and a detailed examination of European bilateral interactions with Latin American and Caribbean countries. This is a must-read work about EU inter-regionalism, an outstanding piece of scholarship, and a highly recommendable book.'
José Antonio Sanahuja, Complutense University of Madrid, Spain
