About the authors
KATHRYN OWLER completed a PhD in Sociology at University of New South Wales. She currently lives and works as a consultant in Auckland, New Zealand.
JOANNA PENGLASE is the co-founder of Care Leavers Australia Network (CLAN) the Sydney-based national support and advocacy body for care survivors. In 2007 she was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for her work as an advocate for care survivors. She continues to work with CLAN in an administrative, advocacy and research capacity.
