French Politics is the official journal of the French Politics Group/Association Française de Science Politique Partner Association of the American Political Science Association.

FPG-AFSP is a highly active group that works with APSA to promote the study of French Politics, francophone countries as well France, and French Political Science through international collaboration.   Developing on one hand from the over 40-year-old APSA-related group of French Politics and, on the other, a new form of partnership group created by APSA in 2018, the former FPG has joined forces with the AFSP. Each year we host two panels at the APSA meeting and one panel or roundtable at the AFSP Congress held every two years.

FP serves as a platform to promote scholarly international collaborations often through organize at the APSA and AFSP meetings.  These are published in the section of the journal called ROUNDTABLE. The most recent roundtables included:

The news of the group is also published regulary in the journal under FPG News.

Since the FPG’s founding, we have had three different  awards. The journal supports these awards through providing complimentary subscriptions to the winners.

The organization is currently co convened by Amy G Mazur (Washington State University) and Vincent Pons (Harvard University) with the collaboration of the AFSP partner, currently Delphine Allès (ILCO). The group takes great pride in having an open organization that welcomes a full diversity of scholars who work on France and francophone political issues across the multiple epistemological and methodological approaches embraced by the discipline of political science across the globe.  There is now a group listserv here with Google Groups.  You can join our group to receive emails, post updates, and have discussions. To join, you need to have a Google account. We are also happy to post any news you have on the website or you can add it to our Google group.
