Latino Studies article wins The Latin American Studies Association Latino Studies Section Outstanding Article Award

The Latin American Studies Association awarded its 2018 “Latino Studies Section Outstanding Article Award” to Leisy J. Abrego’s El Foro 2017 article, “On Silences: Refugees Then and Now.”

Latino Studies paper wins Elizabeth Eisenstein Prize

The National Coalition of Independent Scholars (NCIS) has announced that the joint winners of the 2017 Elizabeth Eisenstein Essay Prize included a Latino Studies paper written by Patricia Silver.

The details of the winning paper are as follows:

Patricia Silver. “Remembering Abuela: Memory, Authenticity and Place in Puerto Rican Orlando.” Latino Studies 13(3): 376-401 (September 2015).
